- Description
- Here I wish to examine the first current mentioned by Shimaoka [decadent romanticism] that relates to Tangled Hair, and analyze, the links between this version of literary modernism and Kansai culture, specifically as it appears as a literary trope in Tangled Hair. I have published previously on the topic of modernity and Akiko, and so my study can be read as part of a larger argument concerning Tangled Hair, and also a rewriting of literary history.
